Pedophiles in Indonesia Will Now Receive Chemical Castration
Indonesia's child sex offenders in Indonesia will now be chemically castrated in accordance to a new decree signed by president Joko Widodo.
The new punishment comes in response to a brutal gang rape and murder in April of a 14 year old girl in Sumatra.
Seven teenage boys were sentenced to 10 years in jail for the crime. Public outcry and calls for chemical castration have now been granted.
This is an amendment to the country’s 2002 law on child protection.
Joko told a news conference:
“The inclusion of such an amendment will provide space for the judge to decide severe punishments as a deterrent effect on perpetrators.”

Pregnant Chinese Women Giving Birth in US for Passports
Rates of Chinese mothers-to-be flocking to the US to give birth have almost doubled, writes CNN.
In 2012, about 10,000 Chinese women travelled to the US to give birth, a figure double the 4,200 in 2008.
This birth tourism industry has sprouted out of parents desire to obtain a US passport for their child, should the Chinese pollution and food safety scares become too great an issue. US rules state that anyone born on US soul is automatically granted citizenship.
Those planning on doing the same, should be aware that increasing numbers of US citizens with dual citizenship are choosing to relinquish their stateside links. This is primarily due to FATCA - the tax that means that American citizens, even those who have never lived in the country, are subject to US tax.

Cambodia Searches for Facebook User Who Insulted PM’s Wife
Authorities in Cambodia have requested the help of Interpol, after a Facebook user doctored a photo of the First Lady with her legs apart.
As Asian Correspondent reports, Prime Minister Hun Sen posted a family holiday photo on Facebook, shortly before an edited copy started being shared on the social networking site.
The new version of the photo depicted the Prime Minister’s wife, Bun Rany, standing with her legs apart. This is considered highly inappropriate in Cambodian culture.
The photo was initially shared with the caption:
“What! Cambodia’s First Lady stands like that for photograph! Such a bad example for Cambodian women!”
PM Hun Sen posted on his Facebook wall in response:
“It is deceitful and cheap behaviour for opposition activists who think that nobody is watching their acts … All actions that ruin my honor and my family’s honor, as a prime minister of a country, those must be held responsible before the law.”
He has warned that he is working with Interpol to issue a Red Notice to the maker of the photo.
